If you were not able to attend the meeting recently to review the proposed new FEMA flood maps, I urge you to review the links below and review all info below.
In addition, please forward this to your neighbors as the Civic Association has limited members and is not able to reach out to everyone. This info will be posted on the BTECA Website (www.bteca.org) and on the Facebook Page.
It seems that majority of the neighborhood is recorded as an “X” which is great BUT the new construction homes are listed in an AE and may be affected a great deal. I was informed by the State that the last time FEMA configured flood zones was in 2001 which means that the new construction homes were not recorded correctly because they did not exist at this point. They were not completed in full until approximately 2007-2008.
I personally have completed the appeal process and would like everyone to review the info but URGE Jared Lane, Jackie Ct, Daniel Ct, Susie Ct and Bark to review the attachments/links. If you are in need of assistance I am here to help. The DEADLINE is 9/27/13 to be considered for an appeal.
I suggest you complete the form, send a copy of the map pin pointing your specific address and a copy of your Flood Elevation Certificate. It states that you will need to mail the documents to the address below but I contacted Michelle Gonzales’ office and was given the okay to email the documents. If you prefer to email the documents you will send them to: KThibodeaux@jeffparish.net & email@example.com.

1. REVIEW FEMA maps
2. If you believe there is an error, PRINT the form, PROVIDE your comments, and RETURN completed form to:

3. Form must be returned to the above address no later than September 27, 2013. Jefferson Parish will then transmit all comments to FEMA to express the concerns with the maps.
